What happens :
Pico Island is one of the best spots in the world to observe Whales and Dolphins. The geographic location in the Mid Atlanticis is perfect point for meeting Cetacea. Pico Sport operates Whale Watching since 1996 at Pico Island and was the founder of the first Dolphin school of the world. We are working worldwide with the most experienced scientist in a close network to share data and participate in photo identification programmes for Orca, Blue and Spermwhale.
Lookouts are posted along the coast line of more than 300km and tell us the positions of the whales are sighted....This is a unique technic and makes sure where whales and dolphins can be found.
We have asked the worlds leading Orca scientist, Dr. Ingrid Visser from New Zealand to visit us at Pico Island and operate this workshop in cooperation with Dipl. Biologist Annette Scheffer from the Mid Atlantic Orca Project and Frank Wirth of Pico Sport.
